Welcome to the last installment of this project! Instead of detailing all of tasks left to do, this will be an installment based on announcements and reflection. If you are new to this project, check out the first several pieces in the previous blog posts to get the full scope.
So how did it all go? Well, just like writing music. It’s incredibly stressful to put your emotions out into the world like little children running off to college for the first time. It’s also a fantastic experience to let music out. I often find that music that I write feels like it NEEDS to be written and it’s a great feeling to let it out. Before I go any further, here is a short video detailing a few key points of the project and showcasing a new video from the vault.
So let’s break down the goals and accomplishments of this project. Below is the original timeline from the proposal stage. You’ll notice that several of the tasks were performed….well, out of order.

There were a lot of snags along the way, as there always are. The biggest offender is always changes in the momentum of creativity. As mentioned in some of the blog posts along the way, there were several weeks where composition just wasn’t going to happen at the speed that I had hoped. Some might call it writer’s block, but I have never really been a fan of that term. It makes it feel more like a disease than simply a part of the creative process. Everyone gets writer’s block, and most creatives likely get it at some point in every project. Another huge roadblock was the final decision of the name Infinite Pigment, as discussed in my last post. Likely, that point explains itself, but for those that have never tried to rename themselves, it can be a very hard decision.
Finally, the biggest “failure” of the project was the lack of inclusions of final visualizers. After much deliberation, I decided that I would rather learn a more complex program or tool like TouchDesigner or VSynth instead of paying a simple browser-based tool to do the visualization. Instead of rushing a mediocre product, I decided I would rather make something of substance by hand. Normally, I would think of this as a failure, but in this instance, I find that I feel very comfortable with this decision.
So what’s next? Write more music and make those visualizers. I think that’s likely the best reflection that I can give at this moment. I like it. I will do more. That is all. I mean… somebody has to write this music between my ears and it doesn’t seem like anyone else can do it.
From Nothing will be available on streaming sites starting next week under my new name, Infinite Pigment, and the next track will follow in a few weeks when the album artwork is done. Stay on the lookout for announcement about other music to be released under Griffin Law, as well. Thanks to everyone who listens. You are the reason that music can live the way that it does.
They wanted heaven from me
I gave ’em hell
Now they want something bigger
I’m overwhelmed
And if you’re just as hopeless (Hopeless)
I wish you well
We can’t wait to see what you do next
