Two Souls in a Fishbowl
“Two Souls in a Fishbowl” is a work inspired by the meditative qualities of minimalism. At its core, it explores the ever-present ability to become unbalanced in life and out of sync with your inner self. Additionally, the piece is meant to provide the performer with a new creative opportunity. Though it can be played a traditional vibraphone duet, the performer is encouraged to present it as I have: a ‘duet with one person’.
Be creative. Tell your own story.
What if My Hands Don’t Work?
“What If My Hands Don’t Work” is a tribute to my mom, Leigh Law, and her bout with rheumatoid arthritis. This piece is a reflection of my fears that I may one day find myself without the use of my hands and thus unable to continue to perform.
Please enjoy this video from my most recent recital. An official release will follow soon.
Comissions
Drawing inspiration from the many influences of my musical history, I have written minimalist inspired concert percussion, groove oriented marching percussion, electronic and hand percussion, and drum set music. While these are my specialties, I am constantly seeking new ways to expand my writing and learning. I look forward to working with you!
